Raymond Buck has been called Sanibel Island, Florida's Village poet. He is, however, a New England Yankee in blood, bone, ancestry, and education. Born and raised in Rhode Island, his first experience in poetry was as an eighteen-year-old freshman at Dartmouth at the feet (literally) of Robert Frost. The revered poet's woodland/farmland shoes were of more fascination than the verse at the time. Mr. Buck's writing interests then, and for six decades to follow, were journalism and drama.
